I’m finally getting around to writing about Coachella. It was a weird one, but i still had fun of course. I think the problem was we just tried to plan this big group of all of us camping together. Meeting up at denny’s, stocking up on supplies at the Von’s, then meeting up again at a hotel parking lot outside of the camp grounds. When you actually make it inside and get everyone situated, then trying to get on the same page, it’s frustrating to say the least. Usually I just peaced out and did my own thing.
This being my 3rd Coachella, I think i’m starting to get the hang of it.The trick this year was don’t get drunk and do cocaine in the middle of the day when it’s 105 out. Do go back and forth between the Do Lab and Yuma Tent until the sun goes down.
Well here are some videos and vines I made when I wasn’t too fucked up. I have the pictures zipped up and stored on my ownCloud and don’t feel like posting them :p
Some friends and I were taking a road trip to Mexico, but it wasn’t like times where i have been to Mexico before where we just goto our destation and back. We were going to san luis, picking up two people, then driving to Mexicali, spending the night there before we make it to our destation of Rosarito just a little south of Tijuana along the coast.
Finally got around to posting my Coachella adventure. I wasn’t even gonna go this year, but some of my best friends decided to go last minute, so I had to hit craigslist to find a ticket. I was lucky enough to find this chick that just got a job at Facebook and wasn’t able to go. I bought it from her for $280 🙂 I took Friday and Monday off and headed to Indio with my two roommates. The weekend was a blast, but how could it not be, right?! Here are some videos and pictures. The photos aren’t mine, videos are. Really mad at myself for not getting any footage of Major Lazer though.
This is the original video by Pheosia Films but wasn’t allowed to release it because the Masta Blasta Rebirth music video wasn’t out yet. The homie at Pheosia put up the vid up on a password protected vimeo link and let me see it since I make more appearances in this video than Dillon does. I have downloaded it and posted it here for the world to see. I was definitely on one this night and idgafos. It was a great fucking night
Foul Play is what has taken over the Friday nights at Bar Smith in downtown Phoenix. I still haven’t been since the Foul Play takeover. This video from the homies at Pheosia Films shows me how bad I suck at life.
Well this Thursday Jan. 10th I’m super excited for. Cannibal Ox, which has one of the best Hip-Hop albums of all time, Cold Vein, is coming to the Blunt Club. I never thought I would be able to see an Ox show, I have read countless articles on the internet that they are broken up and never getting back together, and ones that they never broke up and EL-P is working on the album right now. There is no way i’m missing this show. I will update this with photos and video after. Here is a track from the Cold Vein album, Pigeon. I’m stoked!
This post is dedicated to Dillon Francis. I was able to see him in downtown Phoenix a couple of weeks back, and the place was wild. I was able to sneak backstage and ask him about his recent trip to Alaska. I was a little wasted and don’t remember to much of what he said, but I think the convo when something like this. Me: “So how did you like Alaska?” Dillon: “It was okay” Me: “ya, I’m from there” lol..yaaa I would make a terrible music journalist.. I know we talked about the EDC Alaska video he made but that is about all I remember 😐 He was a very nice person, and I was happy I was able to meet him. Such a fun night!
Here is the video from that night shot by the one and only PheosiA Films Production as well as the EDC Alaska vid, the new Masta Blasta video along with the Que Que video and some crappy pictures I took off my phone. [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/49141039[/vimeo]
I’m really excited to see this video. Too bad I can’t be in Alaska today to catch the premier. I’ll have to mail Ted Kim 20 bucks to get this film shipped to me fresh outta the AK. Glad to see he made one more 🙂
Insomniac and Steve LeVine Entertainment presented The Soundwave Music Festival on Friday, October 14th 2011 at the Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe, AZ. The event is pretty much in my top 10 favorite nights. I have never gone to a giant EDM event before, which in comparison to TAO, EDC, or Ultra, Soundwave is nothing I hear, guess I live a sheltered life. But nevertheless, I had a free ticket, everyone I knew was gonna be there, so I went 🙂 Here is the official Soundwave video from PheosiA Films Production along with some pictures from PheosiA and Thegetdownnn via Tabs to go with it.

Hulk is a collaboration of Claw & Richie August, two creative minds that share a similar production style and enthusiasm for heavy bass driven music. After meeting at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, they began to send files back and forth to collaborate on projects in Dubstep, Hip Hop and Electro. Since the inception, Hulk has been catching the eyes and ears of artists such as Reid Speed, Reso, Mark Instinct, Ultrablack, TrillBass, High Rankin and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, among others
2010 saw Hulk’s first official release, dropping on Reid Speed’s Play Me Records as a Beatport Exclusive. Forthcoming releases on Foulplay, Shift, and Play Me Records are already creating a buzz around the duo. What’s more, the recent launch of their own record label, BroTown Records has the scene begging for the slated releases to drop, featuring tunes by Vaski, Druley, Mark Instinct, Symbl, as well as tunes by Claw, Richie August, and Hulk themselves.
Whether in the studio or on the stage, get ready for the biggest bass in the game, as Hulk is here to SMASH!
Sluggo is Bass fiend Nick Suddarth has been playing electronic bass music for well over a decade, but it’s been in only the past few years that his production skills have shot him to the top of the US dubstep scene as the producer known as Sluggo. In only a short time, Sluggo’s carved out a unique place in the dubstep world as his signature dark and twisted sound incorporating elements from drum & bass, hip hop, hardcore, and metal have this producer murdering dancefloors across the world.
Formerly part of the duo Ultrablack, Sluggo stepped out on his own over the last year as a producer, remixer, and label boss. With releases on the genre’s most influential labels including Rottun, Play Me, Basshead, Subhuman, and Ultragore Recordings, he receives massive support from heavy hitters Downlink, Desielboy, 12th planet, Bassnectar, Ajapai and Reid Speed just to name a few. Sluggo also has been collaborating with a who’s who of the genre’s finest, and has moved firmly from one-to-watch status to outright player in the pantheon of dubstep.
It was only a matter of time until Sluggo teamed up with long time associate Lank to create Ultragore Recordings the world’s #1 home of tear-out dubstep. Having garnered the 2010 Best New Label Award from Syphonic Distribution, Ultragore has become a fan favorite as the home of heavy bass and most murderous breaks in the dubstep world. In 2011 be on the look out for a full on assault from Ultragore with releases in the hopper from some of the biggest names in bass including Hulk, Liquid Stranger, and Mark Instinct as well as hot underground acts Torqux, Helicopter Showdown, and many more!
With a slew of releases on seminal labels such as Play Me, Subhuman and Ultragore in the hopper, collaborations with Brosafari of Evol Intent, Liquid Stranger, and remixes ranging from screamo band I Wrestled A Bear Once to Drum and bass bad boys BLOKHEAD, Sluggo’s set to set 2011 on fire with his brutal brand of hardcore tear-out dubstep.
All the Homies are taking over the marquee on Friday May 27th. Insomniac and Steve LeVine Entertainment welcome Borgore for apart of his Birdwatching Adventurez Tour.
